Roblox adds visual UGC validation and quality feedback in Studio
Roblox has made UGC Validation Visualization available in Studio. Use it to locate avatar asset issues and review technical quality before publishing.
Roblox has made UGC Validation Visualization available in Studio, according to its October 22, 2026 announcement. Creators preparing bodies, heads, layered clothing, or rigid accessories for the Marketplace can use it to inspect validation problems before publishing. The tool also surfaces Asset Quality feedback to help identify technical improvements.
What the feedback means
Roblox says validation runs in the background and produces errors or warnings based on the asset. Errors appear in red; warnings appear in yellow and can include Asset Quality scores. Some messages have no visual overlay, so creators still need to read the feedback rather than rely only on highlighted geometry.
For avatar bodies, Roblox describes four quality areas: attachment placement and orientation, disconnected mesh parts, degenerate or excessively intersecting triangles, and overly dense clusters of nearby vertices. These checks assess technical reliability, not realism. Roblox also recommends manifold bodies, with exactly two faces sharing each edge, and watertight geometry without holes or missing faces, excluding heads.
Test an asset before publishing
Our recommendation is to add a validation pass to this week’s avatar asset review. In Studio’s Avatar tab, open UGC Validation Visualization, select the asset in Explorer, and click Run Validation. Select individual feedback messages to inspect any corresponding visualizations. Use the validation documentation to interpret unfamiliar errors.
We’d start by saving the feedback, correcting a flagged issue, and rerunning validation to compare results. Keep errors separate from improvement warnings in the team’s checklist. Roblox lists automatic fixes, makeup and animation visualization, and MCP error reporting as future aims, not capabilities included in this release.
