Roblox adds Server Inspection to Team Test in Studio beta
Roblox adds a Server Inspection Studio beta for Team Test. Use it to compare server and client state, while accounting for read-only behavior and debugging limits.
Roblox has introduced Server Inspection as a Studio beta for developers testing together in Team Create places. The October 30, 2026 announcement adds a read-only Server view to Team Test, exposing the running server’s world, instance hierarchy, properties, and script source.
Inspect state without changing it
According to Roblox, the view updates properties, attributes, values, and runtime-created instances live. ServerScriptService and ServerStorage are browsable; other server-only services are not shown. With StreamingEnabled, the client continues streaming normally, while the Server view keeps the entire place loaded. Our recommendation is to use that contrast to investigate objects missing from a player’s view.
Roblox warns that editing controls remain active, despite the read-only design. Changes made there never reach the server and disappear when testing stops. Script source reflects the committed version running when the session began, excluding uncommitted drafts and later Edit changes. Only the session starter can debug with breakpoints; other participants can inspect their own Server views. Startup breakpoints may be missed.
Some script sources currently appear empty: cloned scripts, scripts created through Instance.new("Script"), asset-loaded scripts, and scripts viewed in the Team Test client. Roblox says fixes for the cloned-script and client-view cases are planned for next week, while work on runtime-script support continues.
Try a focused reproduction
We’d start by enabling Server Inspection under File, then Beta Features, saving, and restarting Studio if prompted. Open a Team Create place, select Team Test, and press Start. This week, reproduce a server-created object issue with a collaborator and compare Client and Server views. Have the session starter handle breakpoints, and check the script-source limitations before treating an empty editor as evidence of missing code.
