Roblox launches Journeys for tracking branching player paths in Creator Analytics. Instrument a focused flow and check how repeat attempts and completion are counted.
Roblox launched Journeys in Creator Analytics on November 3, 2026, giving developers a way to measure branching paths through onboarding, quests, shops and other features. According to the November 3, 2026 announcement, teams can configure alternative actions within ordered stages and inspect paths and drop-offs in a Sankey chart.
Understand what progress means
Roblox says each stage contains nodes representing actions or choices. Reaching any node completes that stage; reaching a node in the final stage completes the journey. Repeated nodes and returns to earlier stages do not alter progress. The selected date range groups players or sessions by their entry time, then includes progress for up to 90 days.
Our recommendation is to use Journeys where a linear funnel hides meaningful choices, such as different onboarding classes that later reach the same goal. Treat the chart as a way to locate paths worth investigating, not proof that a particular choice causes retention or churn.
Instrument a focused flow
Create a journey in the Journeys area under Analytics in Creator Hub. Roblox allows 10 stages, each with at most 10 nodes, and automatically inserts an entry node at stage 0. Events support up to three custom fields. After saving the configuration, use the generated Luau snippet to call LogJourneyEvent from server code, validating player actions first. Stage numbers come from the published configuration rather than event arguments.
We'd start by instrumenting a shop flow this week using the journey events guide. For repeatable flows, Roblox says to supply a journey session ID for separate attempts. Test alternative routes, revisits and repeated attempts before using the chart to prioritize design changes.
