Roblox discovery rewards repeat play. Start with the right audience.

What Roblox’s longer discovery window means for diagnosing a falling player count.

What Roblox announced

On 15 June 2026, Roblox announced that Recommended For You would expand its retention window from seven to 28 days. Its current discovery guidance highlights play-through rate, first-play bounce, play days and playtime among the signals developers should examine.

Our take

A dip in concurrent players is a reason to investigate. It does not tell you which part of the game needs changing. Look at where players came from, what they encountered first, and whether they returned before committing to a broad redesign.

One useful next step

Open Acquisition → Home Recommendations in Creator Analytics. Choose one weak signal and one change to test—for example, removing an obstacle before the first meaningful interaction. Record the release, compare equivalent weekdays, and allow returning-player cohorts time to mature.

Use Ropeak’s charts for public context alongside your own analytics. Public CCU cannot reveal acquisition sources or retention, and a rise after an update does not establish that the update caused it.
